BPM Centric Application Management in Action
To demonstrate the power of application management, we will use an example web application called ACAR. It deploys a BPM business process to manage incoming credit authorizations.
The web application begins by using the core interface to login and authenticate a store clerk. The BCAM core will return a short list of authorized applications for his or her use. Once the clerk selects the ACAR application and enters a credit request, a BPM instance is created in the bCAM core which begins to execute a formal set of BPM workflow steps designed by management.
The workflow moves the request through the proper checks with several communications to other systems. If the authorization requires a manager intervention, the work is queued for the proper staff management to work.
Note that there are two types of decision examples in the workflow, one completed within the BPM, and the other being an external communication to another system.
The web application screens are separate modular web applications allowing changes to the workflow at anytime without rewriting applications. This is one of the greatest power of a bCAM approach.

This is a copy on the business process workflow diagramed use in this demonstration. It is where we begin to define with a client the wanting operations, communications, and user application required to complete a business process.
The Core bCAM process is on the left while web applications and other services are shown on the right.
The white boxes in the left area are the BPM process nodes. They can be redesigned at anytime without making any changes to the modular applications or external communications. The capability empower management to define and redefine actual operation over the life of the process.
Use the large view of the diagram to see notes and explanation of the interface, BPM nodes and other features.

User-Definable Data Fields
You may have notices that user definable fields may be given to the BPM core to carry through the process. Some of these fields are for Logging and executive view while other field data is specific information used to point other modular application to the proper records.
